What changed on Holobrook lately, newest first.
Make your binder your own
Tap ✏️ Design in your binder to design right on the page. Mark a few pockets, then tap any card's art, a pattern or your own painting to fill them. Drag cards and art around, and the rest slide over like real sleeves.
Pick a few pockets or a whole row and turn your favorite pull into a banner across your binder, the way collectors decorate real ones.
Tap Share on a design page to save it as a picture or post it to the Mural wall. The wall has a new Binder art tab where you can see what other collectors made and leave a heart.
New to it? Tap ? while designing for four short clips that show how.
A cleaner binder, and room to get creative
Your cards get the whole screen. Every setting lives in one drawer under ⇅, and prices sit right on the cards. Pages go up to 6×6, you can name them, and a move tray makes shuffling cards between pages easy.
Display pages are easier too: start from a layout, then fill pockets with a card, art from any card or pack, one of 13 patterns in any color, or your own finger painting.
Need ideas? Open one of our example binders, like Eeveelutions or Charizard through the years, and start your own with one tap.
A smoother end to every pack
New cards now go straight into your binder when the last card turns over. For duplicates we ask once (dust or spares) and remember it; change it any time in Settings, under Duplicates. Also new: your daily round at the top of home, a pack picker with pack art, and 3 packs for friends to beat your challenges.
Japanese sets in Unlimited
You can now open four Japanese sets in Unlimited mode: Pokémon Card 151, VSTAR Universe, Terastal Festival ex and Tag All Stars. You'll find them in the Japanese sets group in the set picker.
Packs come the Japanese way. A 151 pack holds 7 cards and a box holds 20 packs. VSTAR Universe and Terastal Festival ex packs hold 10 cards, and Tag All Stars packs hold 11, with 10 packs to a box. Each box follows the hit pattern collectors have counted, so it always has its set number of rare cards.
Keep an eye out for mirror cards, including the rare Master Ball mirrors in 151 and Terastal Festival ex, and for the odd god pack.
Every card shows its Japanese name with the English name underneath, plus the rarity mark printed on the card. Like everything in Unlimited, these pulls are just for fun and don't go into your binder.
Think you can beat my box?
Had a great box in Unlimited? There's a new button at the end of it to send it to a friend. They get to rip the exact same box for free, and whoever pulls more wins. Bragging rights only, but those count.
Daily challenges give out stamps now. Hit gold and you get one for that day. They fill up a little stamp card, and your total shows up next to your name on the Rip Board. If you already cleared some gold days, they're in there.
We also changed up the challenges themselves. Fewer "open 50 packs" and more "go find a Charizard" or "pull Kanto Pokémon". Some days it's about one set, and some days you just need a box luckier than usual. Have fun with it.
More dust from quests and check-ins
Daily quests now pay about half again as much dust. A quest that paid 90 now pays 130, and pulling a top-rarity card pays 220.
Finish all three quests in a day and a bonus quest unlocks, worth 150 more dust.
Daily check-ins pay more too: 600 dust over a full week instead of 405, and day 7 still comes with a free pack.
Packs now work like the real ones
Trainer Galleries, the Galarian Gallery, the Shiny Vaults and the Classic Collections now turn up inside the packs they really came in, about one pack in three or four. Open Silver Tempest and you might find a Trainer Gallery card, just like the real thing.
Collector mode now opens real booster sets only. Promo collections like Black Star Promos, McDonald's and Best of Game were never sold in booster packs, so they've moved to Unlimited, where you can still open them for fun. Their breaks rank on their own boards.
Promos also have a new home in Collector: each week the Card Shop's Promo corner sells one the way it really came, like a Happy Meal pack, a POP Series pack, a prize pack or a single Black Star promo.
Every card you already own stays in your binder, and your sets still count toward completion.
Dust is fairer across sets
Some sets, mostly older ones, promos and special subsets like Trainer Galleries, were giving far too much dust. Now no set pays more than about 30 dust per pack on average when you dust its cards. Sets that paid more are scaled down to that. Nearly all recent main sets are unchanged.
Extra packs now cost 220 dust for every set, so older sets that cost up to 800 are much cheaper to open.
You keep all the dust and cards you already have. Card values in dollars haven't changed. Dust from a card now depends on how its set compares, so an old card can show a high price and still dust for only a little.
Why: Dust from a card followed its real-world price. Old cards are expensive because they're old, not because they were hard to pull, so a pack from some older and special sets paid back many times more dust than a new set, over 100 times more for a few. Some paid back more than the pack cost, which meant dust could be farmed. No set should pay out far more dust than the others, whichever set you love.
How dust is worked out
1. A card starts at half its market price in dust, the same as before. Within a set, the best pulls still give the most dust.
2. Every set has a ceiling: an average pack can pay out about 30 dust. We worked out each set's average by opening 1,500 test packs of it.
3. If a set's average pack came in over 30, every card in that set is scaled down by the same amount until it fits. Sets under 30 aren't touched.
4. God packs are never scaled down. Dust a god pack straight from the reveal and every card gives its full amount.
Lucky packs still pay well: because the whole set is scaled by the same amount, a pack with a big hit still gives many times more than an ordinary one. In Base Set, an average pack dusts for about 30, but about 1 pack in 100 gives over 350.
What counts is how rare a card is next to the rest of its set, not how old it is. Best of Game is full of expensive cards, so even its $2,400 Rocket's Mewtwo now dusts for about 20. Base Set's Charizard is a hard pull compared with the rest of Base Set, so it still dusts for about 370.
Cards still show their real prices, and the Dust button always shows what a card gives before you decide.
Misprints show what went wrong
Every misprint now has one of five factory errors drawn on the card: a miscut, an ink blot, a ghost print, holo bleed or a factory crimp. The card view names it and explains what happened at the printer.
You'll also spot misprints as you open a pack, with a red Misprint tag on the card. Staff Stamp, 1st Edition and Shadowless cards get their tags there too. Misprints you already own picked up their error type automatically.
Thanks to the player who suggested this.
A tidier pack screen
Milestone, achievement and new-title banners now wait until you close the pack, so they no longer cover your results. The dust still lands straight away.
On a computer, the card deck is bigger and the cards still to come show as outlines that fill in as you reveal them. Home screen panels no longer overlap the header when a notice is showing.
Crews, keepsakes and challenge rematches
Circles are now called crews. A crew earns a keepsake card at 10, 25, 50 and 75 percent of its shared set, and one more when the set is complete.
After a friend's challenge, you can start a crew with them or join theirs in one tap.
Crews: fill a set with friends
Start a private crew of up to 8 friends from the Friends room. You pick one set to fill together, and each card shows who found it first.
Your crew can see spares that match their wishlists, and a feed shows who joined, big pulls and milestones.
Beat my rip
After a good pack, send a challenge link. Your friend rips one free pack of the same set, keeps the cards, and whoever's pack is worth more wins. You'll see who took it on your home screen.
Find your shiny cards faster
Binders have a new Finish filter: Holo, Reverse holo, Chase and Special prints. Stats now count your reverse holos correctly.
Trophy Room looks and display pieces
Decorate your Trophy Room with new looks, from six free ones to five you earn, plus a name plaque and shelf boards.
Display pieces let you show off one card in style, like a UV case, a turntable or a museum vitrine. Buy them with dust in Decorate.
Open Trophy Rooms now turn up when you view a card, so you can visit collectors who showcase the same one.
Friend codes and invite rewards
Every player now has a friend code. When a friend you invite starts playing, you get 5 free packs and they get 3.
Run your own grading service
A new side game: grade other collectors' cards under the lamp, with three cards a day in the Daily Three. Earn fees, buy better tools and slab designs, and build a service with its own name and look.
